Description:
Considered a landmark for the 21st Century, the Trump International Hotel & Tower at 551 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard was designed by Michael Graves & Associates, the world-renowned Manhattan architectural firm, and engineered by DeRose Design Consultants.
Located directly on the beach overlooking both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, the 26-story hotel and tower features studios, one- and two-bedroom suites, all flexibly designed to convert into multiple residences. Additionally, the hotel facilities include a 5,000-square foot spa; a state-of-the-art fitness center; a mosaic-tiled grand pool and deck, and world-class restaurant with outdoor seating.
The structure itself was built as a low-rise building facing to the east to maximize the expansive views with the high-rise building behind it facing to the west connected by an elevated open-air pedestrian bridge at the seventh floor amenity level. DeRose Design Consultants erected all 26 stories in a record-setting 12 months due to its decision to have an engineer on site full time. This critical choice enabled the firm to orchestrate a rapid construction schedule in concert with the contractor, allowing for the remarkably rapid pace for erection, quality control and inspection.
